Yn ôl Deddf yr Iaith Gymraeg 1993, dylid trin y Gymraeg yn gydradd â’r Saesneg yng ngweinyddiaeth gyhoeddus Cymru, ‘lle bo hynny’n addas ac yn ymarferol resymol.’

Ceisia`r Eglyws yng Nghymru adlewyrchu cymeriad ieithyddol Cymru trwy fod yn Eglwys ddwyieithog, ac yr ydym ni, fel plwyf, yn chwarae rhan yn y gwaith hwn mewn sawl ffordd:

- Gweinyddir yr Offeren trwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg unwaith y mis, ag eithrio Awst a Rhagfyr. Fe’i cynhelir ar bedwerydd Sul y mis am 4.30pm. Ym mis Rhagfyr, cynhelir Gwasanaeth Carolau yn Gymraeg, ar

ddyddiad ac amser i’w benderfynu. Mae croeso i bawb i’r gwasanaethau hyn, beth bynnag yw safon rugledd eu Cymraeg.

- Croesewir ceisiadau gan blwyfolion am wasanaethau bedydd, priodas ac angladd yn Gymnraeg.

- Mae croeso i’r sawl sy’n derbyn y Cymun Bendigaid gartref wneud cais i dderbyn y weinidogaeth hon yn Gymraeg.

- Cynhelir dosbarthiadau Cymraeg dan nawdd Prifysgol De Cymru yn Neuadd Gymunedol St Ffagan. Cysylltwch â swyddfa’r plwyf os oes gennych ddiddordeb.

- Anelwn at ddefnyddio’r Gymraeg ochr yn ochr â’r Saesneg ar bob cyfle posib. Gwelir hyn ar waith yn hysbys-fyrddau’r plwyf, deunydd cyhoeddusrwydd a chyfathrebu ac yn ein llyfrau gwasanaeth. Defnyddir peth Cymraeg ym mwyafrif y gwasanaethau Saesneg eu cyfrwng hefyd.

Cysylltwch â’r Ficer os am ragor o wybodaeth am ddarpariaeth Gymraeg y plwyf.

The Welsh Language Act 1993 stipulates that in the conduct of public business in Wales the English and Welsh languages should be treated on a basis of equality, ‘so far as is both appropriate in the circumstances and reasonably practicable’.

The Church in Wales seeks to reflect the linguistic character of Wales by being a bilingual church; and we as a parish play our part in this in a number of ways:

- A Eucharist celebrated through the medium of Welsh is held once a month, except for August and December. This service takes place on the fourth Sunday of the month at 4.30pm In December a Carol Service in Welsh is held, at a date and time to be advised. These services are open to all, regardless of the level of proficiency in Welsh.

- All parishioners are welcome to request that services of baptism, marriage and funeral be conducted in Welsh.

- Those who receive Holy Communion at home or in hospital are welcome to request that this ministry be conducted in Welsh.

- St Fagan's Community Hall is used for Welsh classes run by the University of South Wales. Please contact the parish office if you are interested

- We seek to use Welsh along side English wherever possible. Examples of this include on parish noticeboards, on publicity and communication material, and service books. Some Welsh is used in most of the services which are mainly conducted in English.

For more information about Welsh language provision in the parish, please contact the Vicar.
